Some locations in the past have included: Spring 1008 2 van trips to Factory Mutual Research Campus in Glocester, Rhode Island for an unbeleiveable plant tour of destructive building materials testing, March 2008 a free all day heating seminar to ICPA in Cromwell, CT, a bus trip to Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmith, NH, a guided historical home dating seminar at 3 locations in Gilford, Ct, The Journal of Light Construction Trade Show in Providence, RI, Stevenson Lumber Truss Plant in Monroe, CT, Westchester Modular Home facility in Wingdale, NY, CertainTeed Asphalt Shingle Plant tour in Norwood, MA, Carlin Combustion Technology Plant in East Longmeadow, MA. We also provide Continuing educational all day seminars on locations free to members from time to time.: 2007 Building Science seminar at Gateway CC in North Haven. CAHI also pays for admission & private tour guides who have the knowledge and access to areas that the general public never sees!

* Guest INSPECTORS & INTERNS are always welcome to attend their first 2 regularly scheduled meetings FREE after which they are encouraged to join CAHI or may be required to pay an attendance fee as set by the Board.

*All other guests attending may be required to pay an attendance fee prior to the start of the presentation to receive a Continuing Education and attendance Certificate upon the conclusion of the presentation.

Insulating Concrete Forms
Jim Ryan of ICF Building Company, LLC will discuss insulating concrete form building systems. Jim has over 30 years experience in the building trades and will share his experience in building with this unique building material and system.

Residential Wall Systems and Protecting the Building Envelope
Justin Farnsworth, Market Development Manager for DuPont Tyvek Weatherization Systems will present a seminar that will help attendees learn how to design durable wall systems for residential construction by protecting walls from damage due to air, water and moisture infiltration. In addition attendees will understand the importance of building redundancy in residential wall systems, as well as the various methods currently available for protecting the building envelope.

EIFS Installation and Inspection
Daniel Canova Sr. of Sto Corp will present an informative seminar on EIFS installation, issues, and inspection. Dan has 27 years experience in the construction industry focused on the exterior building envelope and building science. He is the senior sales and technical representative for Sto Corp. responsible for sales and technical support for Exterior Insulted Finish Systems (EIFS), traditional cement stucco systems, fluid applied air and moisture barrier systems, concrete restoration and repair systems, and specialized material application equipment.
